The Big City

Writer's picture: ColindaColinda

Today was the visit to Auckland, 1.5 million population spread over hills and bays and volcanic lagoons and beautiful. We hopped on the HopOnHopOff bus for the initial impression. Bright, very clean with lots of modern buildings, skyscrapers, the usual. The City Tower was a thrill to see the entire area in a 360 degree view. (My panorama pics won't load here)

Had some shopping to do and stopped in a cafe that was a Belgium pub, mussels, Belgium beers, everything you'd see in Belgium. Different from our usual fare and fun. Spent a lot of time looking for the right stores and found a giant Woolworth's!

It was more grocery store than anything but it had some essentials we were looking for. The walk back to the ship was a little sweat producing but we closed some rings!

Lost some people today and picked up a bunch. Tauranga tomorrow.

Stay tuned.
