NAPIER, NEW ZEALAND

Writer: ColindaColinda

Pania of the reef. Maiori legend has it that she was lured by the sea people to swim out to them. When she tried to return to her lover she was turned into the reef at the Napier breakwater.

Boy, did we luck out by being in Napier this weekend! It was the Napier Art Deco Festival and they did it up right! After an earthquake in 1931 virtually destroyed the city it was rebuilt in Art Deco style. (I cant do it justice here bc of loading all the pics but will put more on Facebook.)

First of all there is a stunning huge beach then parks, flowers, a fountain, vintage cars, people dressed in 30's outfits, even the children. Walking down the main streets is building after building in Art Deco. So much fun!

Pania's delight. Coconut, coconut vodka, vanilla tequila, lemon juice and curaçao! Mighty tasty.

Loved Napier!

Stay tuned
