Moorea (Mo-O-ray-uh) is a lovely, lovely island in the French Polynesian Islands. It is located in the Society Islands archipelago just northwest of the main island of Tahiti and is known for its stunning natural beauty. It is surrounded by a crystal clear lagoon and white sand beaches, lush mountain peaks and verdant valleys. We took a Highlights Tour through several towns, visited a sacred site containing Maris, a lovely botanical garden, a grotto and lots of green, green, green. This was my favorite flower: a Torch Ginger.

The next Island was Papeete (Pa-pee-eh-te), Tahiti. This is the most commercial Island we visited with stores right at the dock. We took advantage of that with some needed shopping in a fun market and a new phone battery for Dalna's phone. We did take a highlight tour of some of the sights along the coasts. I'm already mixing up some of the tours, sorry. That's what happens when you can't post for a few days.
Next was Raiatea, the most sacred island of all the islands. We had a lovely visit to a pearl farm, then were taken to the most sacred site of all the islands to see the ceremonial "Mari's" where all the important rituals of all the islands took ok place. We had a fascinating guide, very knowledgeable and understandable, and, just as we got to the most important site, it poured!!!
