Eden lives up to its name. What a sweet, charming little city! Known as the southern gateway to the Sapphire Coast, Eden is a spectacular blend of golden sandy beaches, crystal clear blue waters and an endless supply of fresh fish all in a lush national forest. The whaling industry is long gone but the stories are preserved in the Killer Whale Museum.
We had decided to do our own sightseeing that day and got distracted by the dollar store where we bought supplies for the SydneyMardi Gras Parade on Saturday. Plus a dress shop that was the best we've found so a little shopping was in order (and we were definitely in the majority with that thinking, she did a brisk business from the ship!). Then a real find of a sandwich shop for lunch before heading back "home" before our departure at 2.
Dalna's new boyfriend ( a live one at last!) meets all the ships and was a delight.
Our view of the harbor as we docked in Eden. I've sent a whole lot of photos by Ted of Eden on my FB. He's so good.
The harbor terminal had one of the best for shopping. I was looking for another hat but found this instead.
Australia is known for its opals and this one just spoke to me. I was assured by everyone there, locals and fellow passengers that it was the prettiest one they'd seen. A lightening ridge opal, supposedly rare. My present to myself to pretty up the brace.
You're only this way once, right?
Stay tuned.
